Goetic Tattvas

I am studying the Five modifications of the mind. Trying to map them to a pentagram ritual. I want to utilize averse pentagrams for the process. 

This is borrowed from Liber vel Reguli. I have another averse pentagram ritual in another book. I am leaning towards Thelemic correspondences. Following with the Star Sapphire which is gone over by Peter Levenda in The Dark Lord. The Star Sapphire being the ritual of the sky or Heavens. The Star Ruby being the formula of Earth. 

The macrocosm being the seven planets in the Star Sapphire and the microcosm of the five indian tattvas, or Star Ruby. This is an elementary ritual set up but the averse pentagrams symbolize invocation. Instead of banishing. 

In a Black Rite I may use a different formula. I have been practicing the Star Ruby for some time and have a good grasp of banishing. It is essential for grounding and drawing the four quarters. The Star Sapphire I still need to memorize though I had it down in the past so it should come back quickly. I do not modify that one. 

Lord of the Four Quarters is an excellent book to familiarize yourself with the practice of establishing the magick circle and elevating yourself to the level of kingship.

The Feudalistic pecking order is in place in the orders of  the fallen angels. Notably with noble titles. Knowing your place in feudal capitalism can be simple enough but taking on the heir of nobility is a right you can proclaim by yourself. Especially if you have the karmic influence of ancestral conquerors. Respect is understood but a apex predator point of view is where it is demonstrated.

There are qabalistic arrangements in the Goetic system. The Orders of the Goetia are corresponding to the seven classical planets on the qabalistic tree. Each is given an incense to burn and adds to the evocation. You can find this information in the complete magicians tables by Skinner. 

Iron is not used for the Goetia. Though it has beneficial effects if calling upon Ogum to open the doorway to the other side. A simple sigil for Ogum may be utilized with prayers and burned. Ogum has the power to bind these spirits with iron nails. When presenting to a demon you must be armed and this is necessary on the spirit level as well. Having Ogum as a influence has an effect on directness which is needed for these beings. 

In terms of astrology and arrangement, I rely on the work of a competent astrologer, Priscilla Schwei.

 The times for working with the Goetia vary but are listed in Skinner's work. You should draw or etch the sigil of the demon to activate it in the other realms of your mind. During the operation allow some time to stare into fire or a flame from a candle. This type of meditation is called Tratak. During this time gaze into the fire and allow it to illuminate your being. It develops the Ajna chakra and the abilities of clairvoyance. 

Along with the candle or flame, you should utilize smoke. A charcoal censor is a very useful implement. You want the subtle energy of the smoke to allow you to detect influence with the spirits presence. The act of doing this is called scrying in smoke. By inhaling the atmosphere one becomes intimate with it. Sound and soundtrack are important.

Soundtracks for the ritual can be assembled as playlists. You should set aside enough time to do all that you need to do. The current era where music is so readily accessible should not be denied a use in operations. For the soundwaves vibrate into you and influence your mind just like breathing the incense and smoke. I think Jack Parsons was well aware of the enhancing effects of playing music. He did so during his rituals sometimes. 

So you have your auditory (the soundtrack), your visual (the fire and smoke), your olfactory, and now you need your tactile input. A lesser mentioned practice in fringe Thelemic circles is the use of a spirit board. Or Ouija board as it is commonly known. Another option is a pendulum. Both utilize your hands and create a tactile inference. Another method is to play an instrument and translate the messages via note and rhythm. This last method can induce possession not unlike the Voodoo tradition. 

While using these methods it is useful to have a scribe or record your messages (via recording device) for later transcribing. Initial contact can seem overwhelming but the record will be there for you to more fully integrate the experience in post stages. A circular boundary is established at the early stages of the operation and you should not leave that area. It should be large enough for you to lay down. If needed you can rest in the corpse position and absorb the energy pulsating around you.

A mat or thick rug greatly assists you in relaxing on the floor. Much of the work during contact is done in zazen position and a seiza bench is ideal. Some grimoires call for the use of a pair of magickal leather boots that you don for the operation but I don't feel this is necessary. You do want to feel armed however for violence. It is important that you respect the Goetia as a martial character. So wear an additional dagger or bring a blessed firearm to the altar. Lay it before you like they do in Japanese swordsmanship. 

At some point one must taste the Eucharist for the final tattvas to be experienced. The element of taste. In Tantra, cannabis or an alcoholic beverage may be utilized. During the ritual one is internalizing a change in physiology that is grosser than the subtlety of the other senses. You want mild to heavy intoxication. In the case of alcohol respectively you want mild. You do not want to become drunk enough to fall out of the circle. 

You could imbibe while doing the tratak meditation, but you should utilize some sort of prayer during ingestion or exhalation. The point is to recognize it not as a drug but a Eucharist. If you are sober some sort of food may be substituted. The components of a cake of light are: 

"The Cakes of Light are universally applicable; they contain meal, honey, and oil (carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, the three necessaries of human nutrition): also the perfume of the three essential types of magical and curative virtue; the subtle principle of animal life itself is fixed in them by the introduction of fresh living blood." Crowley

You don't want to make a meal of it. You want transubstantiation. You may bless the cake with a flesh offering as in blood, semen, or female kalas. Blood letting and sexual discharge are consciousness altering methods that can be utilized for most sober people. A snickers candybar or a six pack of beer. Your choice. 

Great thought and pondering must be done before contacting the Goetia. You want to be concise and objective in terms of dealing with them. You do not want to ask stupid questions. Or simply disturb them with calling them to make an appearance. You should consider making a request with your time and then calling the operation to a close. They should be treated with a business fashion. Not some immature questioning for the sake of proof. 

They are the fallen ones. Great power lies within them. They were the ones that descended and took the time to teach mankind the virtues and wisdom of the magickal arts and creating not unlike the Creator. Generations have been handing down their names until the constellations were divided into 72 divisions and they were finally cast back into the Heavens. The Watchers. For generations there have been those that were in their service. Allowing for the traditions of celebrating them and honoring their choice that have benefited many. 

Hell will be on Earth.
