The Tonal Gateway and the deciphering of the contact

Notes from Don Karr

Eight phases of the Moon on a Casio Watch

Spirit Descends into Matter

  • 72 = number of years required for the equinoctial sun to complete a precessional shift of one degree along the ecliptic, in the 25,920 year Precession of the Equinoxes

There are 72 beats per minute in the human heart and this oscillation is common to nature. 72 also has correlations with the moon. 108 is another sacred number.36 squares in the magic square of the Sun.

You can begin with playing the black keys on the piano to open the pentagram ritual. The root note is for Spirit. In this case it would be C#. The C note is for the hexagram formula for Carbon 12.

When the musical gateway is opened one can find a pattern or rhythm and begin scrying in standard notation. Although there has been work on the music of the spheres, this is mainly elemental. A Diatonic scale can be utilized to open the hexagram, playing all the white keys. Releasing the Heptagram. The revealing of the Seven Directions of the Native Americans.

Most important is the relevance of the five. CAGED system is a good pattern to follow. The elemental energies are contained inside the operant. The hexagram seeks expression and the heptagram represents the emergence of the twelve notes. Many have done work on notation and the zodiac. I prefer using the Orders of the Qliphoth and the following zodiacal information.

    12. NESHIMIRON — whose colors are of a stagnant gleaming watery blue, and their forms like hideous women, almost skeletons, united to the bodies of Serpents and Fishes.

I corresponded with the author of this work and He (Don Robertson) told me of the book by Helen Corrine that had tipped him off.

The sixteen geomantic figures can be utilized to ascertain the chart.

There are two or three figures that will end the reading. Populus, Caput Draconis, and Rubeus. The 16 geomantic figures can be superimposed on the 16 pads of an Akai MPC. This is what I have done with a laminate cover for my MPC Live. The pads can be assigned samples but if played chromatically it will repeat four notes.

The 16 court cards can be utilized to compose also. Simply remove them from the deck and shuffle and analyze. Thank you to Charles Randolph for the above image. This can give you some idea of the energies you are working with. Audio scrying is embracing the creative energies and imposing order upon chaos.

Apparently the Myers-Briggs archetypes can be mapped to the sixteen pattern in the court cards of the tarot. Kings and Princes are considered extroverts Queens and Princesses are introverted. Myers Briggs and The Court Cards Link

The 36 minor Arcana can be further evaluated with a Rider Waite deck through this book:

I use the Thoth deck with the two additional Magus cards making a total of 24 trumps. This pairs nicely with the 24 stages of the Eight Circuit Model in The Game of Life by Timothy Leary. Energetically one can ascertain where one might work or build personally. I use Suzanne Wagner's book as a guide and find it uses the three Magi cards in a elegant way.

So gather the Trumps (22or 24 in my case), The Court Cards (16), and  the small cards (36). The Aces can be used for seeing into the seasons. The Ace of Spades is the Winter Solstice. The Season of the Wolf.

There is a plastic version of the Rider-Waite deck that is suitable for practice. A few stones to hold the cards in place in the field and the plastic keeps the moisture out. The Rider-Waite deck is a good deck for studying the older principles of magic. Much was referenced in the illustrations of the cards.

With the Crowley deck the minor cards are harder to decipher. With the Rider deck you can memorize a lot of pertinent information. There have been several books writing on the topic. It's heresy to use the Rider deck as a Thelemite but I don't care. The Thoth deck wasn't ready for distribution. It was still in development. There is a great deal of things that can be done with it magickally. It is something I keep on hand for readings.
